In October (p63), we reported on the US prosecution of dealers Edward and Samuel Merrin, and the sentencing of Edward Merrin for fraud. Samuel Merrin's lawyer, Benjamin Brafman says: “There is no continuing investigation that relates to either Edward or Samuel Merrin, nor is there any condition attached to Samuel Merrin's deferred prosecution agreement that requires him to co-operate in any investigation whatsoever. The setting of the date in December for a formal dismissal of charges was in this case a formality. On 18 December, the court will enter a formal order dismissing all criminal charges against Samuel Merrin.”
